Sophie was a young woman from Bacup who was brutally murdered just for looking different.  The foundation set up in her name focusses on creating respect for and understanding of subcultures in our communities.  Here's their website, or find them on Facebook.

Upper Calder Charities Assist are a local organisation working with local people, local organisations and local businesses to raise funds for the Upper Calder Valley. Launched in August 2009, a number of fun charity events have been organised to involve the local community and raise money at the same time.  Check out their website.
