Todstock

Todstock came about because event manager Craig Baillie woke up still drunk on New Year's Day and decided to make a resolution for the year. Run a festival. Three little words that have mushroomed into what promises to be a special weekend for the entire region. By rounding up willing volunteers, and working with Calderdale council and local organisations, we are managing to put together something special for the community involving the whole range of cultural arts, with Over 100 musical artists, family activities, local stalls and more besides. There's lots more still to be confirmed, so keep a lookout and make sure you're there - for a full weekend of fun music and peace to enjoy our beautiful surroundings in. And raise money for local charities. We can't wait.

At the bottom of the page is our current information leaflet to download for more info, which you may be starting to see in local shops.

The constitution for the organisation is also available for download at the bottom of this page, but the main detail is below:

Todstock is a not for profit organisation whose focus is putting together a one day music festival at Centre Vale Park in Todmorden. We have the following aims:

·         To create a large community event, an annual two day free music festival in Todmorden’s Centre Vale Park to celebrate local music talent and bring the community  together.

·         To present a wide variety of musical styles, that cater for all ages and sections of the community, celebrates diversity and showcases local talent.

·         To create an event that acts as a focal point for Todmorden and the surrounding valley that stimulates interest in the town and the community.

·         To create an event that enables different parts of the community to work together to achieve a common goal.

·         To cover the costs of the event through external funding; namely suitable funding opportunities and local business and private sponsorship.

·         To provide a free event, but to encourage donations on the day, the sum of which will be given to local charities, distributed through the Upper Calder Charities Assist organisation.

·         To make provision to create a self sufficient annual event. To raise 20% of the event costs to be set aside for the following year’s event.

·         To encourage local business support and provide opportunities for members of the community and local businesses to raise money through stallholding during the event

·         To provide fun activities specifically for children during the event, run by fully qualified volunteers
